How to Remove Restrooms Malodor?

Wherever we are, smelling pleasant scent will give us a good sense. In fact such a place is a necessity for humans.

Having odorless home and especially restroom is considered as one of individuals’ points which is possible through two scientific and traditional ways;

Scientific:

Do you how it is possible to have odorless restrooms without chemicals?!

First let’s consider pressure inside building.

What is positive pressure?

What you know about air pressure?

Positive pressure = blowing pressure.

Positive pressure in a room means the entered air from outside be more than existed air and it is very important that the entered air be perfectly purified.

Negative pressure = sucking pressure.

Negative pressure in a room means the entered air from outside be less than existed air.

In order to prevent from pollution transfer from one room to another room usually room pressure is negative in hospitals and medical centers. That is the polluted air is always guided outside. Since naturally air moves from high pressure to low pressure area, this has been done by air conditioning system which generates negative pressure in hospitals.

Its advantage in hospitals is that it can be used to separate contagious ills (tuberculosis, measles, chickenpox and…)

Another way to reduce malodor in restrooms is the negative pressure inside restrooms which is generated by suitable ventilator.

Restroom designing has to be in a way that when opening the door, the restroom not be fully accessible and seen.

The third item is the type of flush tank.

Flush tank type has to be able to discharge 6L or 8L in a split second.

Discharge is important for flush tanks not pressure.

What Is Discharge?

The volume of replaced water from a specific section (river, water canal, dam gate or every other structures) in a specific time duration is called discharge (debit). Discharge unit is /s3m (cubic meter per second). It is usually used to measure flow.

Traditional:

These days, considering the smallness of homes space, the restrooms are the first places which may generate malodor.

- First of all, if you are going to build a house, it is better that according to the land location the building map be in a way that restrooms be in far and out of reach places that is be distant from living room and kitchen.

- In order to prevent from malodor in such places, using toilet bowls (Iranian and European) with standard sizes and also with good washability has to be the first and the most important thing that needs considerable attention. Because remained discharges on surfaces may provide the background for malodor emission.

- Using air fresheners is one of the simplest ways to reduce malodor in restrooms. But having suitable air conditioner is more important besides this.

- Unfortunately, most of the people believe that they have to use bleaching liquids and scale removers to wash restrooms. But these substances, may damage flooring and walls gradually (stone, ceramic and tile) and besides removing enamel, more germs will stay in them. It is possible to use water and low-damage powders solution regularly to wash restrooms (even laundry powder). Then you will enjoy cleanliness as well as fragrance.

- Using fragrant flowers (dried and natural) beside mirror or even on flush tanks may prevent from malodor emission.

- Placing joss stick and fragrant candles in restrooms is a good suggestion.

- Striking and putting out some match sticks is a simple and effective way. This is due to the sulfur which releases from match sticks burning.

Don’t forget that finding the simplest ways to achieve your goals is the secret of success.
